Love Nature Readies After the Wildfires
Love Nature is prepping After the Wildfires, an hour-long special on the wildfires that ravaged Australia, centered on the animals that struggled to survive the disaster and the people who worked to save them.
Produced by Sydney-based Northern Pictures, the documentary includes dramatic footage of the fires as they spread across 20 million acres of Australian land, alongside firsthand stories of the ongoing recovery efforts. A Love Nature original commission, After the Wildfires is co-produced by ABC in Australia, CBC in Canada and Blue Ant International. Blue Ant International will also oversee pre-sales and licensing exclusively outside of the commissioning territories.
The Story Lab & Nippon TV Unveil 9 Windows
The Story Lab and Nippon TV have revealed the entertainment format 9 Windows, the first title to be launched from their recent co-development partnership.
9 Windows is a fast-paced, comedic game show-meets-talent contest celebrating ordinary people with outlandish skills. Set in an iconic, interactive studio, each episode features nine contestants with astonishing and unusual abilities, all beamed in from their home through nine “windows,” which are giant studio screens.
NHK Enterprises in Formats Pact with Lineup Industries
NHK Enterprises has tapped Lineup Industries to provide consultation and sales outside of Asia for its format slate.
The first formats to headline the new partnership are The Late Night Show with Nitty & Gritty, 72 Hours and Chiko’s Challenge. Going into its fifth season on NHK, The Late Night Show with Nitty & Gritty celebrates the underground and little-known-but-rumored ways of life through a candid talk show using puppets. 72 Hours is a documentary format that captures the real stories of ordinary people who come and go at a specific location during a three-day period. Chiko’s Challenge is a co-viewing comedy show that challenges celebrities with child-like questions, which are often surprisingly difficult to answer.
ID to Debut O.J. & Nicole: An American Tragedy
Investigation Discovery is set to premiere O.J. & Nicole: An American Tragedy in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the verdict in the “Trial of the Century.”
In the two-hour documentary, ID will rewrite this infamous story with a new perspective, with firsthand accounts from Nicole Brown Simpson’s family members and friends as they reveal her most intimate thoughts from her own diary. O.J. & Nicole: An American Tragedy premieres on ID on October 5.
